The Ergon IP3 Solestar cycling insoles are based on the patented Solestar stabilisation delta and have a 3-layer construction with a core of EVA foam. This very resilient and at the same time flexible material was especially developed for use under high pressure. In order to allow sufficient ventilation of the foot, the cycling shoe inserts are perforated in the forefoot and ball of the foot. The stabilisation delta (patented), which acts like a clamp in the cycling shoe, ensures that the foot is held firmly in place during the entire pedalling cycle. The foot is first brought into the neutral position, which is optimal for power transmission, and then held in this position permanently. Firstly, the metatarsophalangeal joint of the big toe is lowered, secondly the outer edge of the forefoot is raised and thirdly an ankle support is achieved.
